I woke up today with very terrible cramp from menstrual pains. This is been usual for most of my life but today’s was unbearable so I decided to go see the doctor. Upon speaking to him, he decided I go on birth control pills as according to him this helps prevent menstrual pain. Surprised at his recommendation, I responded- ”Doctor I am not sexually active” In otherwords I am celibate. He seemed shock! I guess he felt all young women in our 21st century have sex!
I left the clinic obfuscated, just could not seem to understand how pills to prevent pregnancy should be taken when one isn’t sexually active as a means of preventing very painful menstrual cycle!!! This menstrual pain gets so severe that even the thoughts of my period close to timing gets me so sick…
Do you think it’s wise taking birth control pills daily as a means of preventing menstrual pain even when you are sexually inactive or celibate?
Tell me your thoughts!!!
When one takes pills, one must have the temptation to say ..”we’ll I may as well have sex since I’m already prepared for it”. The long-term effects of the pill are not good. I do know it helps with pain. I would recommend other methos for pain.
